This tool applies to Morocco only (Moroccan invoice requirements, VAT rates and amounts in MAD).
What a Moroccan invoice must show
Article 145 of Morocco’s General Tax Code (CGI) lists what an invoice must contain. The generator has a field for each of them; you fill them in with your own details:
- The seller: company name, address and its identifiers: tax ID (IF), common company identifier (ICE), trade register number (RC) and business tax number (patente).
- The customer: name and address, plus their ICE when the customer is a company.
- Invoice number and date, numbered in an unbroken sequence.
- Goods or services: description, quantity, unit price excluding VAT.
- Amounts: total excluding VAT, VAT rate and amount (per rate if there are several), total including VAT.
- Payment method and date.
The total is also written out in words, a very common practice in Morocco that the generator adds automatically. The PDF is in English on this page; for French, use the French version of the generator. This template helps with the layout; it does not replace your accountant’s advice on your tax situation.
Quote or invoice?
A quote is a price proposal sent before the sale, with a validity period. Once it is accepted and the work is done, you issue the invoice, which repeats the same lines. In the generator, just choose “Quote” or “Invoice”: the PDF headings change accordingly. For a simple net ↔ gross calculation, use the Morocco VAT calculator.
Privacy: nothing is sent
The generator runs entirely in your browser. Your details, your customers’ details and your logo never leave your computer, and nothing is kept once the page is closed. Keep a copy of every PDF: Moroccan law requires invoices to be kept for ten years.
Moving to real invoicing software
Beyond a few invoices a month, business software saves you time: automatic numbering, turning a quote into an invoice in one click, payment tracking and reminders, a dashboard and accounting exports. It is also the best way to prepare for electronic invoicing in Morocco. Ask us about custom invoicing software.
