What is in the pack?
- favicon.ico (16, 32 and 48 px): the classic format, still requested by some browsers and by Google at the root of the site.
- favicon-16x16.png and favicon-32x32.png: for browser tabs.
- apple-touch-icon.png (180 px): the icon shown when a visitor adds your site to the home screen of an iPhone or iPad.
- android-chrome-192x192.png and 512x512.png with site.webmanifest: for Android and web apps.
Everything is generated in your browser: your image is not sent to any server.
Installing the favicon
Unzip the pack, upload the files to the root of your website (the public_html folder on cPanel hosting), then paste the code above into the <head> of your pages. On WordPress, you can also go to Appearance › Customize › Site Identity › Site Icon and use the 512 px image. Browsers cache the old favicon for a long time: clear the cache or use a private window to see the new one.
Your favicon in Google results
Google shows the favicon next to your site name in search results. To be used, it must be square, at least 48 × 48 px, crawlable, and clearly represent your brand. A detailed logo becomes unreadable at 16 px: prefer an initial or a simple symbol. Then check how your page appears with the Google SERP preview, and its overall SEO with the SEO analyzer.

Frequently asked questions
Which image size should I use?
A square image of at least 512 × 512 px. A simple logo (an initial or a symbol) stays readable at 16 px, unlike a detailed one.
Why is my new favicon not showing?
Browsers cache favicons for a long time. Test in a private window or clear the cache. Google may take a few days to update it in results.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The icons are created in your browser.
